BLOCK OF THE MONTH

The 2012 block of the month will be a Timeless Treasures fabric and pattern.  Stop by to see pictures and later this fall for the sample to be on display.  You won’t be disappointed!

KANAZASHI  FLOWERS   Saturday Oct  8^th   FREE!  Make & Take….come any time 10-5pm
These cute fabric flowers use a new tool to make different styles & sizes. Embellish clothing, bags, gifts and more!  Come try them!

PROFESSIONAL TOTE     Friday October 14^th 6pm-9pm and Saturday  Oct 15^th  10-4  $25   Toby Pharr
This large tote is great for travel or carrying large items including a laptop!  This is labor intensive, but Toby will help to simplify the process.  Homework to fuse the batting prior to class and 2 classes will get this project done       in time for Christmas!

MARGO  HANDBAG      Saturday  October 22^nd  10am-4pm   $15  Lynn Turbes
Join our bag lady to make this Lazy Girl bag.  She will share her tips for easy construction and using zippers.        We have several kits to choose from, or pick your own fabrics.

ENGLISH PAPER PIECING      October 29^th or Saturday Nov 12  10am-4pm   $15   Darlene Halvorson
Darlene will show you how to use to use the special paper pieces to hand stitch a project of your choice. We have many kits to choose from.

MACHINE QUILTING   Sunday October 16^th 1-4pm or …Sunday  Nov 13^th 1-4pm   $35  (includes supplies)
Learn the basics for getting started quilting your own projects.  We will cover supplies, marking and pinning, stitching in the ditch and free motion quilting….it’s not as difficult as you think!  We will make a baby quilt during this class.

Special prices on supplies and class.  We start with the basics: rotary cutting, strip piecing, and quilt top construction.  We make a 54" x 66" lap quilt. This class is for people who have no quilting experience!

Beginner Borders & Bindings    $15 (includes a small quilt that you will put the binding on)  Min.2 Max 4                      Borders & bindings are the frames for our "artwork".  This class is for the beginner who wants to finish their quilt top, or for anyone who has had trouble with borders that "wave" and finished quilts that don't lay flat.

Sign up today for a class at River City Quilts. Call us @ 507-625-8135, e-mail us at sales@rivercityquilts.com or stop in to see the samples and sign up in person.  To hold your spot in a class you must pay at the time of registration.  If the minimum number of students is not met 1 week before the class, it will be cancelled.  A full refund will be made for cancellations made at least one week before the class will be held. We have 2 Bernina sewing machines available for use in our classes. If you would like to reserve one of these machines for a class, let us know when you sign up for a class.
